The Manhattan Project was the code name for the U.S.  effort during World War II to produce the ATOMIC BOMB.  It was named for the Manhattan Engineer District of the U.S.  Army Corps of Engineers, because much of the early research was done in New York City.
Sparked by refugee physicists in the United States, the program was slowly organized after nuclear fission was discovered by German scientists in 1938, and many U.S.  scientists expressed the fear that Hitler would attempt to build a fission bomb.
The program was first under the leadership of Vannevar BUSH, head of the National Defense Research Committee and the Office of Scientific Research and Development, and then under Gen. Leslie Groves of the Army Corps of Engineers.

story for Blue Ocean :

i met blue about 10 years a go. he was working for PA engineer for UFO conference, also working for UFO magazine company "Global Communications" by Timothy Green Beckley in New York.
i met him at buss station, that when we go UFO conference. we talked the about PA system and music.
then he said he was drummer for "Monkeys".
at my age usually friend are start to listen music "Beetles" with stereo audio system.
but for me first record which i purchased was "Monkeys", but i do not have stereo audio system the time.
one of the reason why i made stereo audio system & PA system the time was i couldn't purchased it.
i was very surprised that blue did drummer for "Monkeys".
he is actual american indian. he told to me that when he back to his home town Shasta mountain ( one of the UFO spot in the west side of america ), always his family was killed by someone that related nuclear company. because the location has material that for use nuclear plant. his family try to protect that. i was very surprised for that, because i thought that kind of story was long time ago.
now his UFO magazine company was closed that caused by UFO information by internet.
