The Dovercourt Theatre Group is an amateur group which has been performing in the Harwich area for nearly 25 years. It is primarily an adult based group, with members hailing from all walks of life, but when needed, local children are also involved. The group performs a wide range of plays, ranging from Shakespeare to pantomime, and has been consistent in being nominated and winning awards from the local theatre guild. Previous productions include :- Beauty and The Beast, Harvey, Urge, Scrooge, and A Midsummer Nights Dream. The latest production was 'Santa in Space', a pantomime by Paul Reakes.
The group is always looking for new members, not just to act, but also to help backstage, front of house, and with the technical side of things.
The group meets on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm at the Harwich Adult Further Education Centre, Main Road, Dovercourt, Harwich, Essex, U.K.
