Most of the main cast along with the writer/producers Jimmy Perry and David Croft.

This page is dedicated to the talented team of actors who brought the characters in the Walmington-On-Sea Platoon of the Home Guard alive on our screens. Sadly, most of the cast have now passed away, but their names will live for many, many years to come in association with the series that they so memorably brought to life for nine years.

Each of these actors has, as a consequence of their role in Dad's Army, brought a great deal of pleasure and laughter to millions of television viewers. Long may they continue to do so, for future generations, young and old.

This page is organised into sections for each of the main cast of Dad's Army. It starts with Arthur Lowe and John Le Mesurier, Captain Mainwaring and Sergeant Wilson respectively. The list of the other cast members is given in no particular order. You will find a brief description of the character that the actor played and a section, below this, giving some biographical details of the actor who played the role.

Each section is linked to the list directly below. Click on the name of the actor to view their biographical details.
