I had been in town for four days, on a roof. I hadn't meant to be there that long, I'd just gone up to check a rat-trap which I had set last year. But I was cornered by a sack which was blowing at me in a scary way. I managed to out-smart the sack and made a dash for the far side of the roof. It was here that I stumbled upon my first encounter with a space-bat. I did my best to entrap one, but it used some mystical levitation technique to escape me.
