ANNOUNCEMENTS PROBLEMS AT WEBRING Since some time on Friday night there have been several problems with the Webring database. Originally this only affected site administration functions however at some point on mid-saturday webring navigation became affected as well. All sites have vanished from the ring (save one which wasn't even on it to start of). I have sent a few e-mails to webring and I hope to have this resolved as soon as they come back from the extended coffee break that some of us call a weekend. 2. A REMINDER OF HTML FRAGMENT GUIDELINES This is a reminder as I have noticed a few peoples websites were starting to deviate from the guidelines (perhaps that is my fault for not setting them out clearly enough [?]). HTML Fragments can be placed on any page of your site (although we recommend that you place them on the index page for obvious reasons). Nevertheless, the URL that the ring links to must always be the page that contains the HTML fragment. This ensures that surfers can browse the ring easily. Any site found not conforming to these guidelines may be moved from the ring to the queue until they fix the problem. 3. WEBRING STATISTICS GENERAL TRAFFIC These are the sites generating webring traffic (e.g. someone clicks on 'next' from this page). Traffic is recorded over the previous 8 week period. Total Hits: 278 Next: 6 Previous: 9 Next/Prev 5: 7 List: 138 Random: 53 MOST ACTIVE SITES This information is unavailable this week due to the problems with the webring. 5. LIST INFORMATION To unsubscribe from the MTS Webring information mailing list send a message to ridex@easynet.co.uk containing the word "unsubscribe mtsring-list" and your e-mail address. This is not an automated system so you can tag on any comments you would like. Alternatively, if you know your onelist password you can remove yourself from the mailing list from the onelist page. This list is used solely for non-commercial purposes and will usually involve one e-mail a week. The MTS Webring update contains announcements from webring members and statistics regarding the webring.
