1. WEBRING ADMISSION VOTE
Voting has now closed in the admission vote. Thank you to everyone who voted. The results are shown below:

Votes cast: 77
Abstentions: 57
Turnout: 73.33%
As you can clearly see this shows that the overwhelming majority of votes were cast for the "conditionally" option. The result of this vote is that sites from other Merchant Taylors' Schools can be admitted onto the webring provided that the home page for their MTS is already on the ring.

2. ANNOUNCEMENTS
WEBRING ADMISSION GUIDESLINES BEING FORMULATED
I am currently working on some formal guidelines for sites to consult when deciding whether their content is suitable for the webring. They are currently very much in a draft form. A rough outline is below:
Who can join the webring?
- Pupils of MTS, Northwood.
- Pupils of any other MTS provided the home page for their school is also on the webring.
- Ex-pupils of any MTS can join the webring during their first year after leaving the school. Any sites belonging to ex-pupils added during this period or before can remain on the ring for the duration of the ex-pupil's university course.
What kind of sites will not be allowed onto the webring?
- Sites containing or linking to porn, defamatory material etc.
- Sites containing information or tools for hacking.
- In all addition requests, the decision of the ringmaster is final.
The reason I have posted these now in their incomplete state is to allow a "public review" of them. If you have any suggestions for additions or abjections to the current guideslines you can put your case to me via e-mail to ridex@easynet.co.uk.

To unsubscribe from the MTS Webring information mailing list send a message to ridex@easynet.co.uk containing the word "unsubscribe mtsring-list" and your e-mail address. This is not an automated system so you can tag on any comments you would like. Alternatively, if you know your onelist password you can remove yourself from the mailing list from the onelist page.
This list is used solely for non-commercial purposes and will usually involve one e-mail a week. The MTS Webring update contains announcements from webring members and statistics regarding the webring.
