FAQ

(Frequently Asked Questions)

How many of your members are Cat 8 and above?

Well, this varies during the year, but usually about 10.

How much do students pay for max tickets there ?

£20, with £5 off for packing, and another £5 off if you use your own kit.

Do you only jump at Eaglescott?

We jump first timers there, but we also organise trips to competitions and trips abroad.

I'm interested in joining the club but I've got nothing to do with Bristol uni - would that be a problem?

Not at all! We're allowed up to 10% non-university members.

Can you link to my website?

Yes, as long as it's relevant to the club's members, or you put a link to us on your site.

How do I remove myself from your mailing list?

See the emailing section for how to remove yourself.

Does the tandem jump require a weekend of training?

No, but the minibus goes down for the whole weekend, so you'll have to catch a train back if you want to go for just the day.

I left my hat on the minibus. How do I get it back?

Email the person who drove and arrange it with them.

I'd like to email the whole club. How do I do this?

Email the person in charge of the list.

Can you inform me where the EPI is?

It's the bar on the third floor of the Student's Union.

I trained last year, but didn't get to jump. Can I still claim my free jump?

Should be fine. Contact the club captain.

Does the committee get paid for organising the trips?

No! We're all volunteers, so don't give us too hard a time. We're students with coursework and exams too!

Who do I make cheques payable to?

University of Bristol Skydiving Club

How do I identify the skydiving club in the EPI?

We're loud, and tend to have T-Shirts with words like 'extreme sports' on them. We also often stick our arms out sideways and pretend to be planes. Don't be shy - ask!

Are we covered for personal injury as members of the club or do we have to arrange our own cover?

You are covered third party, but you will have to arrange personal insurance seperately.

Can you please move the date of my jump as I am now double-booked with a friends 21st?

Maybe, but this is not a good reason! We accept death, exams and serious injury as excuses, but we haven't got time to fit around your social lives.

What kind of shoes we need for the jump?

Sensible shoes, without sharp protrusions, that you don't mind getting dirty.
