First Bolan experience: I first heard/saw Marc Bolan on MTV in the early years. The video was "Bang-a-Gong," and I think it was from "Top of the Pops" (which we never got in America). I'd always loved that song and his persona, but I feel like I truly EXPERIENCED Marc Bolan's music when I heard Slider and Electric Warrior from a college pal. That pretty much changed my listening tastes.

What would you like to tell the world about Marc Bolan: As an American, I have to say that it really saddens me that he never got HUGE here the way he did in England. I'm 23, and most people my age have not clue who Marc Bolan or T. Rex were. It's a real shame, because there's just so much fabulous work he created and it seems no one in the states recognizes that fact.
