First Bolan experience: I first heard/saw Marc Bolan Sept. 1970 when I bought the "Unicorn" LP at the McMaster University Bookstore because of the neet cover pictures and the strange instruments listed on the back. I remember having it in my hands along with the Bowie Deram LP and having enough money just for one. I've never regretted the choice. I put the record on a turntable in the library listening room and promptly had the top of my head sheared off by the music (this, of course accounts for my bald spot). The first cut I ever heard was "Chariots of Silk" and the whole LP origamically folded my brain in half and opened it up into some new and complex shape.
