Most schools have access to a range of teaching and learning
resources on CD-ROM these days, even if only a simple encyclopaedia. Such multimedia
resources can give students a clear understanding of key concepts like a textbook could
never do. To review a CD-ROM, please click here. |

The Physical World
|
Arranged in a logical and accessible way, this CD-R provides
a range of explanations and case-studies covering the whole suite of physical processes
that take place in the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, etc. language is quite
high-level, although surprisingly the animations seem almost 'cartoony'. Although
it's beginning to look a bit dated these days, it's still one often returned to for the
ease of access of the examples. Audio and video are passable (although small in
size) and photographs are excellent. There's also a feature that allows you to save
your route through the CD-ROM, to build up a portfolio of relevant evidence for the topic
studied. |
