Randall Williams
- King of Showmen:
From Ghost Show to Bioscope
Vanessa
Toulmin, of the National Fairground Archive (University of Sheffield),
presents a comprehensive account of the first Bioscope showman, Randall
Williams, with much new information. Williams travelled the fairs with
a Ghost Show in the 1870s-990s, eventually converting to a Bioscope
show. He was perhaps the most famous exhibitor of his day, described
by his contemporaries as the King of Showmen.
