Resources
Please
note that a new page has been added for students – Student
Information this page is updated with news, events,
course updates and announcements, check it regularly or
bookmark it.
Articles
The articles
available on or through this site should be considered as
required reading for students of The Traditional Horary Course.
Foundation Level students may find some of the material to
be too advanced, but it can be returned to at a later stage.
These articles
are intended as supplements to the
courses and your tutor will assume that you have read and
understood them.
The Study
Guide
For
students of both courses The Study Guide is available
by clicking here . It
provides important information on how to proceed in your studies
and should be read before beginning work. This is essential
reading for Diploma level students.
(By
clicking on the above link with the right button on your mouse,
you will be able to download the file for reading or printing
later. The pop-up menu will give you the option to "Save"
the file to your hard drive.)
Christian
Astrology
The
first two books of Christian Astrology (An
Introduction to Astrology and The Resolution of all
manner of Questions) are available as MS Word 97 and 2000
files (respectively) from http://mithras93.tripod.com/books/books.html
. These files have been transcribed from the 1647 edition
and can be searched and printed. The same site offers other
books of the pre-1700 period in the same format.
These
are free downloads for personal use only.
On-line
study sessions and tutorials
Sue
Ward will be facilitating on-line free Chat sessions for students
of both courses. As communicating via Chat can sometimes be
difficult with several people typing messages at once, numbers
will be limited to six participants for each session. Time
zone differences can usually be accommodated.
The
aim of these sessions is to provide students with direct contact
with Sue Ward, and the stimulation of the input of other students.
These sessions are to give you the opportunity to put your
questions to Sue, and respond to the points raised by other
participants. If you are interested in taking part, e-mail
Sue Ward.
We
will be investigating the possibility of utilising on-line
conferencing for lectures, discussions, and classes. For this
you will need voice capabilities by way of a PC microphone.
Classes
and Workshops
For
those able to attend in the UK, these can be arranged
and tailored to cover the course syllabus, or other areas.
If you are visiting the UK, contact Sue Ward well in advance
if you are seeking to link up with other students for the
purpose of a class or workshop. Fees can be found on the Services
page.
Sue
Ward will also be teaching classes in Lisbon beginning in
November 2003. Details can be obtained from mail@espaco-astrologia.com
(English spoken), or from their web site www.espaco-astrologia.com
when dates have been confirmed.
Assistance
with Personal Horaries
Personal horaries
are those which you are not submitting as part of your course
work, but with which you still need help. Both Ruth Baker
and Sue Ward are prepared to undertake this work, which attracts
a fee of £30.00. NB: You should have attempted judgement
before requesting help, and be able to present your work.
This facility
can often be used to form the basis of private tutorials.
For those who are not students of our courses, the full fee
applies as either a horary judgement or private tuition.
Co-ordinates
and Sunrise and Sunset Times
A student has
given me the following very helpful information. To obtain
precise geographic co-ordinates off the internet go to www.multimap.com
or a similar site, enter the place name or post code then
click "Find". Scroll down to find the latitude and
longitude of the place.
To calculate
manually the planetary hour local sunrise and sunset times
are required. In the Google or Yahoo search field, enter "sunrise
sunset times [place name], then click "Search".
A list of web sites will be shown offering this information.
