Map Point 2 Right.
Yet another sweeping driveway leading to a beautiful house. This is "The Old Palace" and looks like a beautifully restored ancient building. This was the site of the Archbishop's Palace but in the 14th century, Archbishop Islip had part of it pulled down using some of the materials to build a new Palace in Maidstone close to the river Medway. So the glorious ragstone building you see here today has been lovingly restored.

Thanks to Derek, the owner, not only are we able to still see this fantastic building today, you can even come in and take a look around! Make no mistake, Scarecrow tours beat even the White House tour.
