Map Point 3 Right. During World War II the Bull was one of the pubs regularly used by the fighter pilots stationed at Biggin Hill and West Malling. My theory is that the Bull was a good pub about mid-way between the two airfields for them to meet in. Many pilots signed the ceiling but none of their names are visible now. However, there are pictures of this on show in the bar. Some of the names were "DUGGIE, PAT, BILL, SPIKE, HORSE, JACK and BRYAN together with the bare footprints of a WAAF. They had used the smoke from candles to make their mark. |
