Don't you just love this building, it's an artesian water well and this is the pump house. This is the view of the pump house as you look southwards towards it.
As we walk round the building anti-clockwise, here is the view now looking east.
In the past this well served practically the whole Wrotham. It was in use up to the late 1930s. Mechanically it could still be made to work but changes to the roads when the motorways were built have lowered the water table, taking away the essential water supply.
