Trevor Dutt qualified MRCS, LRCP, MB BS from St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College,
London in 1965. He became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
in 1975 and was elected to the Fellowship of the College in 1988.
He was Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with Honorary Senior Registrar status
at Charing Cross Hospital, London from 1976 until 1980 when he was appointed Consultant
in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to The Whittington Hospital N.H.S. Trust, London. He
retired from the National Health Service in 2010 but continues a busy private practice
In his professional career he has dealt with a wide range of general gynaecological
conditions as well as having a special interest in the treatment of infertility and
the associated surgery.
He is a member of the Medico-Legal Society and a Practising Member of the (British)
Academy of Experts. He has been instructed as an independent expert witness in many
medico-legal cases and he has experience of giving evidence in Court both for Claimants
and for the Defence.
He is the author of "Gynaecology" (with Matthews, M.) in the "Medicine for Lawyers"
series (Cavendish Publishing, 1998).
In addition to his civilian activities, Trevor was a member of the Royal Naval Reserve
from 1979 until 2003 when he retired with the rank of Surgeon Commander having been
Principal Medical Officer for HMS PRESIDENT (the London Reserve Training Centre)
for thirteen years. He was awarded the Reserve Decoration in 1997.
