L'Assiciation du Quebec

On Sunday July 20th, 1997 L'Association du Quebec, the third Local Association of IUA in Canada, was licensed at a meeting held in Montreal, Canada. The meeting was hosted by Louis Laporte and a spirit of love and brotherhood prevailed.

Cathy Jones, Chair of the Coordinating Committee, and Trustee, Georges Michaelson-Dupont attended in addition to 33 Charter Members from Montreal. The following officers were appointed: Louis Laporte - President, Ronald Grondin - Vice President, Carmen Desrosiers - Secretary, and Lise & Pierre Routhier - Treasurer.

As there were over sixty applications for membership, plans are already under way to divide into three Local Associations in Quebec.

PERU

Andes URANTIA Association -- Peru Joins International URANTIA Association

URANTIA Foundation is pleased to announce that on August 18th, the second national URANTIA Association to be formed in South America was established in Araquipa, Peru. Marlene and Georges Michelson-Dupont and Richard Keeler were privileged to assist in the installation of the association, and to get to know the thirty-two wonderful readers of El libro de URANTIA who formed this group. The ceremony included the signing of the Chartering Agreement and the Licensing Agreement, which allows the International URANTIA Associations to use the registered trademarks of URANTIA Foundation.

Colombia

The First South American URANTIA Association formed on May 4, 1997 in Bogota, Colombia. There are over 18 study groups in the city of Bogota alone. The new association is called: URANTIA Association of Colombia.

Three new associations were formed during the months of November and December 1997. This brings the total formed during the year of 1997 to 8 new associations. Groups in Utah, Colorado and Missouri, USA, are in the formative stages with an early spring target date.

The new associations are:

Kentucky URANTIA Association.

The Kentucy URANTIA Association was formed at the home of Steve and Patsy Koerner, November 2, 1997.

The Pro tem officers are: Charles Arterburm, President. Steve Koemer, Vice President. Susan Berger, Secretary. And Keith Crume, Treasurer.
