1354 28 May birth of Owain Glyndwr (according to Pennant) but year possibly 1359
c1370 Owain studies law at Inns of Court London
1377 Death of Edward III Richard II succeeds the throne
1383 Owain Glyndwr marries Margaret daughter of Sir David Hanmer
1385 Owain fights in King Richard's army at the battle of Berwick against the Scots
1399 Richard II is deposed and imprisoned in the tower.
1400 Owain is declared Prince of Wales.
1400 Oswestry is set on fire,Welshpool is attacked.
1401 Commons represent to the king and lords of parliament that the Welsh are in dangerous mood.
1402 Rhys Gethin is victorious at the battle of Pilleth and Edmund Mortimer is captured. He later agrees to join Owain.
1402 Cardiff, Llandaff, Abergavenny, Caernarfon attacked.
1402 2nd September.Henry IV crosses border into Wales. Owain invades Herefordshire.
22nd September Henry IV and his army go back to England.
30 November Edmund Mortimer marries Catherine Glyndwr
1403 May Prince Henry marches into Wales and destroys Sycharth and Glyndyfrdwy November determined attack by Glyndwrs forces on town and castle of Caernarfon.
1404 January. Parliament places Prince Henry in control of operations in Wales. Owain captures Criccieth, Harlech and Aberystweth castles. First Welsh Parliament is held at Machynlleth. Coronation of Owain Glyndwr as Prince of Wales at Machynlleth.
May Treaty with France.
June Harlech and Aberystwyth Castles are captured by Owain. Bangor cathedral is burnt by Owain.
November force assembled at Hereford by Prince Henry.
1405 April Prince Henry is appointed lieutenant in North Wales with 500 men at arms and 3000 archers. A Welsh force led by Rhys Gethin is defeated at Grosmont.
August Owain holds parliament at Harlech.
1408 Aberystweth Castle is captured by Prince Henry. Siege of Harlech Castle. Edmund Mortimer dies of starvation.
1409 Harlech Castle falls to the English.
1415 Supposed death of Owain Glyndwr.
